The Tools of Apologetics
In the chapter of Greg Bahnsen’s book Always Ready: Directions for Defending the Faith titled “Tools of Apologetics” provides his readers with a checklist of sorts for examining, evaluating, and critiquing unbelief. Here’s a link to the articles online.
In short, Bahnsen lists the following “sins” of non-Christian thought:
- Prejudicial Conjecture
- Unargued Philosophical Biases
- Presuppositions Which Do Not Comport with Each Other
- Common Logical Fallacies
- Behavior Which Betrays Professed Belief
I still use these points in almost every serious apologetic engagement i’m in.
