The Tools of Apologetics

In the chapter of Greg Bahnsen’s book Always Ready: Directions for Defending the Faith titled “Tools of Apologetics” provides his readers with a checklist of sorts for examining, evaluating, and critiquing unbelief. Here’s a link to the articles online.

In short, Bahnsen lists the following “sins” of non-Christian thought:

  • Prejudicial Conjecture
  • Unargued Philosophical Biases
  • Presuppositions Which Do Not Comport with Each Other
  • Common Logical Fallacies
  • Behavior Which Betrays Professed Belief

I still use these points in almost every serious apologetic engagement i’m in.
